Meet Luc Gibson. Founder and Head of Product of TRACX.
“I started my career as a designer at an agency in London, supporting in the production of promotional packaging for large UK brands. Q1: Could you introduce us to your startup, TRACX?
Luc: TRACX is a business that aims to provide customer experience, reviews and marketing to local businesses. Allowing them to become more digital, understand their customer experience and get more reviews.
TRACX was inspired by an idea I had to use contactless technology to collect customer feedback. The idea was to use contactless tags as a ‘set of buttons’, in which the public would interact with by tapping one with their phone. (See below for the board)
I took this idea to a number of people in the customer experience industry and received positive feedback throughout. I was close to receiving investment at the beginning but it fell through, that is when I decided to learn to build the tech myself as I couldn’t fund it.
Q2: What are some of your recent experiences in building TRACX?
Luc: Building the business hasn’t been easy, having to run a full-time job and build the software meant a good number of late nights, especially towards the start when I was learning to code. Thinking back, it’s definitely worth it now though!
I found that the business only really started moving when I began real conversations with real people. Even if they felt like silly calls to have, more often than not I found value.
Q3: What are your plans for TRACX?
Luc: We now plan on overhauling the interface, improving the experience and value TRACX provides.
